Cultrex®BasementMembraneExtract(BME)isasolubleformofbasementmembranepurifiedfromEngelbreth-Holm-Swarm(EHS)tumor.Thisextractprovidesanaturalextracellularmatrixhydrogelthatpolymerizesat37°Ctoformareconstitutedbasementmembrane.Basementmembranesarecontinuoussheetsofspecializedextracellularmatrixthatformaninterfacebetweenendothelial,epithelial,muscle,orneuronalcellsandtheiradjacentstromaandthatplayanessentialroleintissueorganizationbyinfluencingcelladhesion,migration,proliferation,anddifferentiation.ThemajorcomponentsofBMEincludelaminin,collagenIV,entactin,andheparinsulfateproteoglycans.
Cultrex®BMEisaBasementMembraneMatrix thathasbeendeveloped,producedandqualifiedforgeneralcellcultureapplications.
