Description
Cultrex®HumanFibronectin,Pathclear®ispurifiedfromhumanplasmaandisPathclear®certifiedtobefreeofcommonpathogens.Fibronectinisanextracellularmatrixproteinthatisfoundabundantlyinbloodandconnectivetissues.Thesematricesareassociatedwiththeepithelialtomesenchymaltransitionofmetastaticcells–includingtumorcellswithstemcell-likeproperties.Fibronectinperformsessentialfunctionsincollagenfibrillogenesis,aseitherageneralcelladhesionmoleculeoramodulatorinbindingbetweencellsurfacesandtheextracellularmatrix.Fibronectinmatrixassemblyisessentialfornormalvertebratedevelopmentandapparentlycontributestothegenerationoftumormetastasesbysupportingtheestablishmentandpersistenceofpre-metastaticniches.Fibronectinissecretedasadisulfide-linkeddimerof230-270kDa,comprisedofthreetypesofrepeatingmodulesthatmediateinteractionswithextracellularmatrixcomponents(includingfibronectinitself),andcellsviaintegrinsandotherfibronectinreceptors.Thus,fibronectincanbeusedforcoatingtissueculturesurfacesorasamediumadditivetopromotecelladhesionandproliferation;itis0.2μmsterilefiltered.
Cultrex®HumanFibronectin,Pathclear®isapurifiedplasmaextracellularmatrix proteinthathasbeendeveloped,producedandqualifiedspecifically forcellculturestudieswherethepresenceofpathogensmaycauseconcern.
